A weir is a wall or dam built across a water flow path to raise the level of the water or to change the direction and characteristics of its flow. Our unique design uses weir plates and fins to balance the water flow and allow for a wider path, which allows water to pool without creating backpressure, provides an even water nappe and prevents risk of clogging. This allows the water to flow steadily over the copper crest to create an evenly distributed water nappe.Conversely, baffles are obstructions in the flow path serving the purpose to check, deflect and disrupt water flow. They create chaotic turbulent flow that mixes air and water and can potentially cause a bubbly and choppy water nappe.
